There are many terms to get familiar with when learning to play Texas hold’em poker. One very important term to understand is the flop. The flop is the placement of three community cards on the table which is then followed by a round of betting. With three cards being placed on the board as opposed to one, the flop has the greatest possibility of making peoples’ hands better and, for this reason; a lot of action often takes place during the round of betting following the flop.
There are many strategies for playing the flop but because each hand is different they cannot all be played the same way. Usually on the flop, betting a hand that has a pair that is either the top pair or second pair on the board is a good plan of attack. While the number of terms in poker is extensive, one of the most important to know is that of the flop.
